West Branch event cures the blues with Michigan craft brews

Posted

The Blues and Brews event held at the Forward event center brought world renowned blues musicians and Michigan craft beer to West Branch for a weekend of fun. The event began April 27 and ran through the night of the 28th. The event featured performances by acclaimed blues artists like Thornetta Davis, Laura Rain and The Caesars and The Larry McCray Band. The event also held a music workshop for local schoolchildren who dream of a future in music, as well as craft beer tastings for the adults.

I attended the Friday night show. There was only one major glitch (music was WAY too loud for the first act) which was remedied. Other than that, I have nothing but high praise for the organizers (this was the FIRST West Branch Blues festival, I believe) and the musicians and the crowd. Looked to me like everyone in attendance was having a great time. Organizers - two suggestions: a) make it easier for attendees to purchase a single ticket on your website and b) ADVERTISE more. Hope to see you again next year.
