Richard Carl “Lucky” Luckritz, 76, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac. He lived in Alger since 1998, formerly of Eastpointe.

Lucky was born Jan. 17, 1942, in Detroit to Carl and Edna (Starry) Luckritz. He served on the USS Tunny in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. Lucky worked in Eastpointe as a police officer for more than 30 years. He was a jokester and enjoyed playing golf, bowling and spending time on the water boating.

Lucky is survived by his loving companion, Margaret “Maggie” Gentry; his children and stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Interment of ashes will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.

Memorial contributions can be made to Margaret “Maggie” Gentry in memory of Lucky.
