Pet adoptions, photos with Santa to be offered at Jingle Paws event

WEST BRANCH — Claws and Paws Rescue is inviting animal lovers to come out Dec. 8 for its inaugural Jingle Paws adoption event, which will also include pictures with Santa and more.

Adoptable animals will be at the Outlets at West Branch from noon to 6 p.m., along with 10-12 vendors selling crafts and Christmas items. Santa will be present to pose with both pets and kids, for $5 a photo. Attendees may also bring gifts for volunteers to wrap for a donation.

Pet food donations are also welcome. The rescue has four food pantries to help people having difficulty providing for their pets, one located in Skidway Lake, one in St. Helen and two in West Branch.

“Those who are animal lovers and want to help us and want to help the animals, it’s a great idea to bring their pets and get pictures for Santa,” Claws and Paws Office Manager Kari Taylor said. “It’s a great cause. We’re a nonprofit, so this is what keeps us going.”

The event will be held by the main office at the outlets. Taylor said she is hoping this will be an annual event.
