Open house held at YMCA Camp Timbers

WEST BRANCH — YMCA Camp Timbers had its open house Sunday, June 3. There were several speakers discussing updates at the camp and thanking those who have helped with funding. After this, there was a ribbon-cutting followed by tours.

There were refreshments available as well.

Camp Director Brian Miller said the renovations cost $1.8 million and different organizations and individuals donated funds to make this possible. Renovations included a new recreation pavilion, new bath houses, new restrooms and a new reception room.

Miller said the camp had work done during its offseason, from November until May.

Miller said a common misconception about the camp is people assume they have to be members of the YMCA to sign up, but it is in fact open to the community.
