Man dead after alleged stabbing


EDWARDS TWP. - Michigan State Police are investigating an alleged stabbing Feb. 18 that resulted in the death of 52-year-old Douglas Hotham.

Police were called to the 5500 block of Patterson Street in Edwards Township at approximately 10:40 a.m.

According to the MSP, no one is currently in custody at this time and asked the community remember this is an active and ongoing investigation, which is being conducted by the MSP and the Ogemaw County Sheriff's Office.

"As with any homicide or complex investigation, the Ogemaw County Prosecutor's Office is actively involved and has been from the outset," a press release reads.

It is unclear if any charges will result from the incident at this time.
