Mills Township votes down medical marijuana facilities

MILLS TWP. — The Mills Township board voted 3-2 to turn down three medical marijuana facilities in the township at its July 11 regular board meeting.

Supervisor Dave Ryan made the motion to approve an ordinance and three requests from True Green LLC to construct a provisioning center, a Class C grow operation and a processing center, with support from Trustee Lisa Elkins-Cotton. The motion failed with Treasurer Dona Emerson, Clerk April Schils and Trustee Brenda Eymer all voting against the motion.

The meeting was held in front of a capacity crowd at the township hall in anticipation of the vote. No one was allowed to comment prior to the vote, however public comment was allowed at the end of the meeting without much comment about the decision.

Wow! Millions of $ lost! Booze and opioids are poison. Marijuana is not. Helps ptsd, pain, seizures, muscle spasms, etc. people have been using it for centuries. Just shaking my head. I thought we needed money desperately?
