Maxine Winifred (Dyer) Burch, 89, of Alger passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint.

She was born March 11, 1929, in Pontiac to John Henry Dyer and Vera Elizabeth (Fletcher) Dyer. Maxine graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in nursing then worked at Harper Grace Hospital in Detroit and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac.

She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Eugene Burch; and the loving mother to four daughters, Susan (Allan) Eberle of West Branch, Patricia (Tom) Martin of Alger, Margaret Sartell (Clint Owens) (Brian Oshita) of Montrose and Gloria Burch of Alger; and loving grandmother to Kristen (John) Nicholson, Michael (Tisha) Eberle, Kyle Martin, Joseph Kitchen, Kyle Kitchen and the late Justin Flesher. She adored her six beautiful great-grandchildren, Lukas, Alexis, Kalley, Brooke, Trevor and Caitlyn. She was also a loving “sissy” sister to Glenna Henderson of Alger and beloved sister-in-law and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Maxine was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Prescott, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 370 in Alger and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family, extended family and friends.

She was a kind and gentle spirit with a great sense of humor and strength we all admired. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

The funeral service will be at Faith Lutheran Church, 5315 Henderson Lake Rd., Prescott, on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at noon with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mills Township Cemetery. Pastor Fred Cordts will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family. Arrangements were handled by Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, www.steuernolmclaren.com.
