Lawrence E. “Larry” Morse, 76, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Peaceful Acres Assisted Living in West Branch after a lengthy illness. He lived in West Branch since 1990, formerly of Standish.

Larry was born Dec. 1, 1940, in Dearborn to Wayne and Helen (Borshiem) Morse, who preceded him in death. Larry worked as a reporter or the Bay City Times, Detroit Free Press and WNEM TV5. He also was a real estate agent and co-owner of Country Store in Onaway. Larry was a hunter, fisherman and trapper.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Jean Morse; daughter, Lori Grusnis; granddaughters, Sophie and Lili Grusnis; and sisters, Jan Scott and Lois (Dee) Thompson. He is also survived by stepchildren and step-grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life service will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 1 p.m. with visitation starting at 11 a.m. The Rev. Howard Travis will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Heartland Hospice and Peaceful Acres Assisted Living or a charity of your choice.
