Karen Marie Otter, 60, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018, at her home in Alger.

She was born Feb. 21, 1958, in Wayne County to Carl and Leona (Derocher) Dean. Karen lived in Alger for the past 18 years, formerly of West Branch. She worked at Hank’s of Alger for 15 years cooking and catering for events. Karen was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Michigan Bear Hunters Association. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, camping and spending time with her family. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas.

Karen is survived by her husband of 18 years, Larry Bialobrzeski of Alger; children, Joseph (Laura) Dean of Essexville, David (Krystal) Dean of West Branch, Eric (Peter) Dean of Miami, Fla., Erek Jacobs of Alger, Rachael Jacobs of Alger, Aleisha (Chris) Hepfer of Alger and Ryan (Angie) Bialobrzeski of Alger; grandchildren, Allysen, Kaylee, Isaac, Olivia, Cyrenia, Brooke and Bryce; brother, Tim (Vanessa) Dean of Taylor; sister, Denise Dean of Vassar; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 1 p.m. with visitation starting at 11 a.m. Father Patrick Maher will officiate. Luncheon will follow the service at Hank's of Alger until 4 p.m.
