Joseph Edward Juras, 98, of West Branch, formerly of Saginaw and Houghton Lake, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at The Horizon Senior Living in West Branch.

Joseph was born Nov. 21, 1920, in Saginaw. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1947 and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Military Order of the Purple Heart and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Josephine Mary Kaiser on May 11, 1946, in Saginaw. She predeceased him May 12, 2002. Joseph was employed at GM Delphi, and was former president of Saginaw Automotive Employees Credit Union from 1977-1988 and GM Retirees Local 467. He was a member of the Catholic faith and the Masons.

Surviving to cherish his memory are three daughters; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his Horizon family.

Joseph was preceded in death by two sons.

A private memorial service will take place at Chapel Hill Mausoleum, Saginaw, in the spring and a traditional Hawaiian memorial service in Mokuleia, Hawaii. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Wounded Warrior Project or any veteran organization of your choice.
