James E. Knight

Died June 5, 2018


James Edward Knight, 80, passed away June 5, 2018.

He was born Aug. 3,1937. Raised in Houghton Lake, he graduated from Houghton Lake High School and worked at the old music box as a teenager. He then served in the U.S. Army as a medic. He retired from Michigan Bell as a splicer and foreman after 30 years of service. He then worked as an engineer and inspector for fiber-optic cable installation in various states. He owned and operated Hunters Paradise in Meredith with his wife Joan. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Wilma (Haywood); wife, Joan Knight; and brother, Norman Knight.

He is survived by sisters, Maxine Natalia of North Carolina and Mary Alice Leich of Rhode Island; sons, Steve (Barbara) Knight of New Oxford, Pa., and Jeff (Leslie) Knight of Titusville, Fla.; and daughter, Sandee (Tom Trouten) Knight of Sanford.

No services are planned at this time and arrangements were entrusted to Sisson Funeral Home.
