Hundreds of ducks race down river in Irons Park

Hundreds of plastic ducks were dumped into the river at Irons Park July 1 for the annual Hospice of Helping Hands duck race. Two heats were held featuring all of the entrants, with the top finishing ducks from each heat moving onto the final. The top three finishers in the final and the last place finisher in the final each won a prize. First place went to Ed Janlonski, who received $100. Second place was Jerrod Colvin, who received $50. Third place Rob Moss and last place Kevin Ward each received $25 apiece. The annual event is held each year on Fourth of July weekend to benefit Hospice of Helping Hands.
