Henry A. "Hank" Gassman

Henry Adrian “Hank” Gassman, 71, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, in Gaylord. He lived in Alger for the past 47 years, formerly of Taylor.

Hank was born Oct. 16, 1945, to Henry and Mary Jane (Batten) Gassman Sr. in Detroit. He married Dorothy Garter on Feb. 7, 1963, in Detroit. Hank worked for Fuelgas for 32 years. He started working as a delivery driver and then went into sales. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, carving, collecting antiques and playing guitar. Hank also enjoyed spending time in Trout Lake at his cabin in the U.P.

Hank is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy Gassman of Alger; daughter, Sandra (Jim Arini) Caudle of St. Helen; sons, Ron (Rachel) Gassman of West Branch, David (Angela) Gassman of Muskegon and Rick Gassman of West Branch; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Kristine, Katie, Alyson, Adriana, Bret, Devin, Desirae, Stephanie, Stephen, Samantha, Xaver and Donavon; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Felicity, Faith, Fiona, Mikey, Aaliyah, Robbie, Aviana, Aiden and Selena; and sister, Kathryn (Bernie) Warner of Gaylord.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be held Monday, April 17, 2017, from 3-8 p.m.
