Five arrested in connection with St. Helen drug lab

RICHFIELD TWP. — The Strike Team Investigative Narcotics Group and Richfield Township Department of Public Safety arrested five individuals for the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

According to a STING press release, the arrests came as a result of a three-month investigation that identified six suspects in connection with operating a drug lab.

The five suspects arrested were Dominic Christopher Crawford, 24; Krista Marie Chantel Smith, 26; Beth Louise Nasser, 34; Travis Ryan Spragg, 29; and Joshua David Fowler, 40.

The press release states that during the execution of a search warrant at a St. Helen residence in December 2017, evidence of manufacturing methamphetamine was located and seized. Lab analysis and review resulted in multiple warrants being issued by the Roscommon County prosecutor for 48 counts of various charges including maintaining a meth lab, purchase of pseudoephedrine to manufacture meth and maintaining a drug house and drug lab.

The complaint remains open until the additional arrest of the remaining suspect, according to the release.

Assisting at the scene with the arrests were officers from Richfield Township Public Safety, the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police.

“Members of the public are reminded that this release contains only allegations of a crime and is not proof of the defendant's guilt,” the release reads. “A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the state’s burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.”
