Elizabeth J. Palmer, 96, of Hale passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017, at the Iosco County Medical Care Facility.

She was born Feb. 27, 1921, in Hale to the late Bert and Pheobe (Near) Stanlake. She built spark plugs for AC Spark Plug during World War II as a Rosie the Riveter. She had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed farming, hunting, mushroom hunting, gardening, collecting stones and most of all spending time with her family.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Gary (Linda) Palmer of Hale; and grandchildren, Jason Palmer and Lisa (Joe) Gittings.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Almon Palmer; and her sisters, Minnie, Margaret and Eva.

Visitation will take place Thursday, July 6, 2017, from 4-8 p.m. at the Buresh Funeral Home in Hale with services at 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Switzer officiating.
