Dorothy A. Daniels, 90, of Whittemore passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Saginaw.

She was born June 15, 1927, in Standish to Peter and O’Delia (Osier) Koelsch. She and her husband Donald owned and operated Daniel’s Dairy Farm in Whittemore since 1953. Dorothy was a member of St. James Catholic Church and Altar Society. She had been a member of the Farm Bureau and was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, sewing, playing cards and dancing.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Wallace (Jan) Daniels of Whittemore, Rodney (Anne) Daniels of Whittemore, Lynn Daniels of Whittemore, Lorene (Mike) Saunders of West Branch and Carol (Mark) Gingerich of National City; grandchildren, Christopher (Michele) Daniels of Whittemore, Lisa (Brian) Searing of Arizona, Jennifer (Charles) Kyle of New York, Audrey (Jason) Bischoff of Tawas City, Laura (Peter) Anschuetz of Tawas City, Bonnie (Michael) Rossow of Sterling, Catherine (Garrick) Bush of Albion, Mary (Ryan) Titus of New York, Luke (Lindsey) Daniels of Whittemore, Jessica (Joseph) Checchi of Whittemore, Trisha (Edwin) Bellinger of National City, Stephanie (Corey) Kinney of Whittemore, Jeffrey (Bethany) Spencer of Hudsonville, Donald (Michelle) Gingerich of East Tawas, Daniel (Sarah) Gingerich of National City and Leah Gingerich of National City; step-grandchildren, Michael Saunders of Texas, Christine (Darrin) Kielb of Dearborn and Joseph (Theresa) Saunders of North Carolina; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; daughter-in-law, Lugene Daniels; grandsons, Ryan Spencer and Shawn Daniels; and brothers, Vernon Koelsch and William Koelsch.

Visitation will take place Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. at the Buresh Funeral Home in Hale. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Skidway Lake with Father Lawrence Boks as celebrant.
