Anthony J. "Tony" Brent

Anthony James “Tony” Brent, 71, passed away July 16, 2017, at his home in West Branch. Formerly of Royal Oak, he lived in West Branch for more than 17 years.

Tony was born Feb. 3, 1946, in Detroit to Jonathan and Leonora (Neuffer) Brent. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Vietnam. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Royal Oak in 1964. Tony attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit, and was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in West Branch and the Knights of Columbus as a 3rd Degree Knight. He lived in Seattle, Wash., for many years before moving to Michigan and worked in the printing and photography industry. Tony was a freelance photographer and was an artist doing watercolor paintings. Tony loved his cats and was a ham radio operator. He made many friends over the years all over the world communicating with his ham radio.

Tony is survived by his siblings, Ann (Henry) Ameling of Edinburg, Texas, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Brent of Royal Oak, Madeline (William) Nelson of Chicago, Ill., Mary Fortuna of Traverse City and Patrick Brent of Clinton Township; eight nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and -nephews; and aunt, Nelda (Waldron) Neuffer of Seattle, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial Mass and rosary will be held at the Holy Family Catholic Church in West Branch on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at 11 a.m.
