Alice Gildner, 93, passed away peacefully with family by her side Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017.

She was the widower of Raymond Gildner. They shared 67 years of marriage. Alice was born in Unionville on Nov. 25, 1923. She was the daughter of Louis and Helen Remilong. She was one of 11 children; three brothers and three sisters predeceased her. Alice married Raymond Gildner on Sept. 1, 1945. They owned a dairy/cattle farm in West Branch for 71 years.

Together they raised four boys, Richard and Nancy Gildner, Ed and Kate Gildner, Dale and Tracy Gildner and Wayne and Andrea Gildner, all of West Branch. She had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alice is also survived by her siblings, John Remilong, Peggy Nelson, Mickey Wangler and JoAnn Walters, all of West Branch.

Alice enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable garden. She was always sharing her harvest with others. She liked painting and crafting, fishing, was a deer hunter into her 80s and was a “summer mom” to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, from 5-9 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at 11 a.m. with visitation starting at 10 a.m. The Rev. Tim Dibble will officiate. Burial will follow at Edwards Township Cemetery.
