The city of West Branch currently adds fluoride to its water to bring it to 0.4 parts per million. Health professionals have recommended it be raised to 0.7 parts per million. The city currently spends about $2,800 a year on fluoride and testing equipment. To bring it to recommended levels, it would cost the city approximately $300 more annually.
